AUSTIN, TX -- “People thought we were nuts,” said Tim Dolbear. ”But when God said ‘move to Austin’, we weren’t going to go around that mountain again.”

Having just completed the recording of their fourth release Dependence Day, this former Southern Californian duo pulled-up stakes, left behind a successful recording studio clientele, and headed for the hill country of Central Texas. “We had just heard a study about how God calls people out to other places to do His work,” said Angela Dolbear, “we always look forward to what God has for us.”

Tim & Angela Dolbear comprise the core of child of the Son. Their releases, The Garden Key Soundtrack, Dependence Day,  and Never Been to Memphis, along with many other released singles, contains ethereal driving music with a European flavor. The testimonial lyrics are a narrative of the spiritual lessons and experiences of this singer/songwriter couple.

Each song is a vignette of striking true-to-life experiences, such as the title track “Dependence Day,” which chronicles Tim & Angela’s ultimate desire to remain strong in their faith through all circumstances that occur on their spiritual journey. Soaring emotionally charged vocals and modern production give what Night Moves Magazine described as “a little melodic, a little alternative and a lot unlike what is getting stale today.”

Child of the Son’s release, Never Been to Memphis, released on January 1, 2004, is a collage of music textures and melodies. The first single off the album, "My Soul," debuted as featured new music on 95.9 FM, the FISH, one of Orange County’s premiere Christian music radio stations. The couple’s first two releases "Leap of Faith" and "Change," received airplay on commercial and non-commercial radio nation-wide in 1998 & 2000.
